Sure, be glad to.
My name is Albert, a Marketing Executive and one of the Co-Founders of OpiPets.The OpiPets team is composed of over 20+ members of staff, all experts in their respective fields. Our team is fully doxxed and is committed to staying on track with our roadmap and being completely transparent with our community about the progress of the OpiPets game. Our team is primarily based in our UK headquarters with additional support from team members living all over the world, including Portugal, Germany, Spain, Romania, India, Africa & Indonesia. Our talented team has had successful careers in games development, banking & finance, some of the team have been involved in the crypto space for 10+ years with expansive knowledge of crypto assets, NFTs & Smart Contract development, and backgrounds in Binance NFT, Cardano/IOHK, Swissborg, UN, Lloyds Banking Group, Input|Output, Microsoft Azure, Blizzard Activision, Open Banking.

Can you give a brief about your Play to Earn Platform?
Sure! OpiPets is a free, play-and-earn game built on BSC which aims to reshape player-owned economies by prioritizing gameplay through storytelling and redefining ownership via customization.
Completely hand-drawn, OpiPets is set to launch with 60 unique, customizable OpiPets and thousands of battle & cosmetic assets that can be used to customize each OpiPet. Built to redefine ownership, each customized OpiPet can be turned into an NFT. Set in the Opiverse, players will be allowed to create, battle, collect or sell their unique NFT OpiPet in this economy-focused RPG.
Through OpiPets’ unique in-game economy, players will be able to build their own wealth by exploring various avenues (e.g., player-owned shops) to earn the in-game token ($OPI).🕹️
In order to safeguard the community as best as possible, OpiPets have segregated their utility and governance tokens. This reiterates the project’s commitment to gameplay & players of the game, protecting the community from the exposure to risk that conventional P2E models hold.
Initially, as a team of 6 gamers, we looked at the P2E gaming landscape and weren’t thrilled with what we saw. Games with high barriers to entry, including people being charged over $1000 to purchase NFTs to play the game, to only get poor gameplay, and low reward rates for their efforts with the in-game utility tokens open to speculation.
The idea then came for OpiPets, taking our favorite elements from our favorite games (RuneScape, World of Warcraft, Diablo II, Pokémon, Dota2) to create a game that everyone can enjoy. Whether you wish to create & customize your very own unique OpiPet, explore The Opiverse, battle fierce creatures in dungeons and find loot, battle fearsome opponents in PVP, play arcade games, or master the economy game buying, selling, and trading items, OpiPets has something for everyone!
On top of all this, we celebrate the traditional aspects of P2E gaming too, such as breeding and staking aspects that aren’t mentioned in the above brief
Q3)What makes Opipets a unique project?
Could you list some standout functions & objectives of your platform which attract more Investors towards Opipets
Starting with the most innovative feature of OpiPets, the customizable NFTs. Players are able to equip their OpiPet characters with items, skins, weapons, and armor, and then mint their NFT. When you obtain new assets you wish to equip to your OpiPet NFT you can do so, by RE-MINTING your OpiPet NFT. Your old OpiPet NFT will be sent to a burn address, meaning no other player can create or re-make/copy your previous creation, and will be replaced with your new NFT.
The fact that everything you see in the OpiPets game has been completely hand-drawn by our talented team of artists is also another element that puts us ahead of the curve, instead of ‘cookie cutter’ similar style NFTs, we took the time to make amazing artwork with awesome utility for everyone to enjoy.
Then moving onto the economic side of the game… Finding, buying, or trading for items and then selling them for a profit allows players to notice new buying/selling trends and meet the needs of other players.🔥
Those who play the economy game well can expect to see the highest reward rates seen in OpiPets.
It wouldn’t be possible to explain all the features of OpiPets that make it unique and stand out in such a short AMA. But what we’re building here has not been done ever before!

Q4)Can you highlight some strategies that Opipets has executed to bring non-crypto gamers to your platform?
Absolutely, OpiPets is free-to-play, you won’t need an OpiPet NFT to play the game, and you don’t even need to connect a wallet to play. We wanted to make a game that even traditional Web2 gamers can enjoy with little barrier to entry.
You can even earn the cost to mint your own OpiPet NFT by earning the in-game utility token $OPI through playing the arcade games. With the majority of in-game transactions taking place, ‘Off-Chain’ players can expect to see very few gas fees just for playing the game. Because the majority of transactions and interactions in-game take place ‘Off-Chain’ there is no need for the addition of a crypto wallet unless you wish to mint an NFT or withdraw your tokens to your wallet.
As the game is initially a browser-based game the system requirements needed to run the game are very little, meaning as long as you have access to a device that can access the internet, you should be able to play OpiPets. This allows OpiPets to reach players in lower-income areas where desktop PCs & top of range mobile phones are not a regular amenity.
Our team came together to make a game, that gamers can enjoy, with the options of asset ownership and earning crypto/nfts as an added bonus.
Q5)Can you tell us more about OpiPets tokenomics, token utility, and project revenues?
OpiPets has robust tokenomics, segregating the governance token $OPIP from the in-game utility token $OPI to protect it from manipulation from investors & speculators, so the utility token will be protected by such speculation from investors and whales that have no intention ever to play the game.
Starting with our Governance token…
$OPIP is the OpiPets governance token issued on Binance Smart Chain. The total supply of $OPIP is 500,000,000 Initial Market Cap: $480,000
$OPIP provides the following utilities to its holders:
- Governance
- Upgrades to Network
- Allocation of Community Treasury
- Voting Rights on changes to the game
Then moving on to our Utility Token…
Utility Token $OPI
The utility token $OPI is used for in-game purchases of all in-game items, from eggs used for incubating new OpiPets, to the items you use in the game and in battles. The token is earned simply by playing or trading in the OpiPets economy. All player accounts start with a 0 (Zero) balance of $OPI. Players will then earn OPI in the game by completing tasks, playing the arcades, PVP, or tackling dungeons. Players will be able to withdraw their $OPI and sell on DEXs and exchanges.
$OPI Tokenomics Breakdown
Maximum supply: Theoretically infinite.
Initial mint: 250,000,000.00 $OPI
Smart contract: Mints if the amount in the game's liquidity pool is too low for the economy to function at an optimally healthy level.
How will this work?
An initial mint of 250,000,000.00 $OPI will go straight into the game’s liquidity pool.
The game will need to maintain a liquidity pool with a minimum balance of 50,000,000 $OPI.
Transaction fees: All purchases, trades, and bank interactions will have a transaction fee.
Transaction fee:
- 2% across all transactions
- 0.5% Taken by Opis Group (revenue generating)
- 0.5% Goes to players staking $OPIP or $OPI
- 0.5% Burned to keep inflation under control
- 0.5% Put back into the liquidity pool
In terms of project revenues, the 2% transaction fee will provide liquidity for the business. There is also a premium subscription available to all players (this is an optional feature) — costs around $5 and provides players with benefits only available to premium subscribers. There will also be NFT sales linked to the OpiPets project, more information is to be released on this in the coming weeks.
Q6) What is the idea behind creating OpiPets?
Initially, as a team of 6 gamers💪🏻, we looked at the P2E gaming landscape and weren’t thrilled with what we saw. The P2E gaming landscape offered very little for what I would call ‘Traditional Gamers’ and was very focused on profits and tokens rather than gameplay and utility.
We just knew we could potentially do something about this.
The idea then came for OpiPets, taking our most enjoyed elements from our favorite games (RuneScape, World of Warcraft, Diablo II, Pokémon, Dota2) to create a game that everyone can enjoy. Whether you wish to create & customize your very own unique OpiPet, explore The Opiverse, battle fierce creatures in dungeons and find loot, battle fearsome opponents in PVP, play arcade games, or master the economy game by buying, selling, and trading items, OpiPets has something for everyone!
Games are meant to be fun, but when we first researched the P2E space, the general consensus at the time was that the games were for profit. They were not engaging, and they were not fun. They were cash grabs. I’m happy to say now that as Web3 & P2E gaming have grown, we’re starting to see more serious projects taking things in the right direction, and we like to think we will follow in these footsteps in creating a great game people play in fun! Anything they earn is simply an added bonus!✨
Q7)Tell us about the role of NFT in OpiPets
As previously mentioned we designed OpiPets to be enjoyed by all gamers, not just Web3!
OpiPets is free-to-play, you won’t need an OpiPet NFT to play the game, and you don’t even need to connect a wallet to play. The first step in OpiPets is signing up and creating your OpiPet character, of which there are 60 to choose from. Once your OpiPet is created, you can play the arcade games and explore Opis I (the world of OpiPets) and begin earning our utility token.
You can play the game without the NFT, but for us, the most engaging and fun gameplay comes once you mint your NFT
You’ll find, buy, or trade items that you can equip and customize your OpiPet into something truly as unique as you are, then you can mint it as an NFT. Minting your OpiPet as an NFT grants access to the PVE dungeons to battle fierce enemies in the dungeons to find more loot or tokens, and you’ll also be able to enter PVP battles against other players. 🎮
The best part about the OpiPet NFTs is, they can be upgraded and RE-MINTED. Got some better equipment for your OpiPet? Equip the new items to your OpiPet and you can re-mint them. Your OpiPet NFT will then reflect the new cosmetic wearables, and any battle stats attached to your newly re-minted NFT.
Q8) Does your game only challenge blockchain games, or is there space for traditional games as well?
Love this question, we made the game with the idea of blockchain gamers in mind, but being traditional gamers we knew there was more we could do than just attempt to conquer the P2E space 👀
The idea behind OpiPets stems from us being gamers, wanting to make a game, people enjoy, and the NFT/Crypto rewards come with it as an added bonus. “Creating a game people want to play is already a win in our books, adding the ability to earn through that game takes it that extra step”. We hope that with no barriers to entry, this will act as an onboarding process of traditional gaming markets to Web3 & Crypto.💰

Awesome question! We’ll increase our community using key opinion leaders and influencers alongside a global marketing campaign, primarily targeting South East Asia, the world’s largest gaming community. Alongside our marketing and PR campaigns, we’ll begin to roll out ambassador programs in the coming months, keep an eye on our socials for any announcements.

Q2) COVID-19 has slowed down many economies around the world but as a crypto business, does it affect you negatively or positively? Are you still on track to achieve your goals or are you planning a new development?
OpiPets received private equity seed funding of around $4.5m, securing the development of the game of which 90% is completed. Having built a new game engine from scratch was a challenging undertaking, but our talented development team managed to get the job done. With the majority of development of the base game completed, we’re approaching our testing phase, we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks about our testing whitelists, so keep an eye on our socials, alongside this we’ll be posting some shots and videos of real gameplay.🎮
